What is NJTL? The Alpine Tennis Association, in collaboration with WY USTA, started a National Junior Tennis & Learning chapter in 2014 (UWYO NJTL). NJTL was started in 1969 by tennis legend, Arthur Ashe and is a program that incorporates tennis, education, and life skills to make youth successful both on and off the court.

Since 2014 the Laramie chapter has run free afterschool tennis and Playdays for youth aged 5-16 years. In past years, we have mixed in STEM activities with the tennis skills, including the USTA math-based program of ACE.

All materials are provided and we use the UW indoor and outdoor tennis courts. NJTL is now connected with USTA's Net Generation program which promotes tennis for youth. All coaches are volunteers from UW and the UW Tennis Club and are background-checked and have completed the USTA Net Generation Safe Play.
